Sixteen days before the start of the sixth edition of the Africa Cup of 3×3 basketball in Madagascar, from November 29 to December 1 at the Mahamasina Sports Palace, the Malagasy Basketball Federation or FMBB, with all partners, especially the Telma, Radisson Blu, Canal +, ‘Africa Cup of Basketball 3×3.
It was an opportunity for all concerned parties to show their determination for the success of this continental competition.
“The acceptance of the Africa Cup of 3×3 basketball in Madagascar is not the result of chance. Fiba Africa, the highest authority of basketball in Africa, considered several parameters to justify this choice: welcoming the Malagasy public, serious organization of the local federation while respecting international standards according to the specifications, involvement of the State and public and private partners, commitments from different actors such as media and journalists, volunteers , the service in security and more,” said Jean Michel Ramaroson, president of FMBB.
Enhanced security
The organizing committee, led by General Nina Ruphin Zafisambo, has been set up and is in full action to make the sporting event a success.
“Organizing an African championship, especially in 3×3 basketball, is very difficult and very heavy for the organizing country. This is why the existence of Telma as a Presenting partner is important. The The Malagasy State, through the Ministry of Youth and Sports, is the first official sponsor for the holding of this African Cup at home. Canal + ensures the transmission of the event on the African continent, without forgetting the importance of all that committed partners,” the FMBB president insisted.
This African Cup is very important because it qualifies for the World Cup for the winners of the women’s and men’s categories.
The president of the Africa Cup 2024 organizing committee, Nina Ruphin Zafiambo, insisted on the fact that “security will be greatly strengthened during the event”.
Madagascar intends to go far and the president of the FMBB does not say the opposite: “What awaits the two Ankoay national teams is not really a cakewalk. But I trust our players. They will face a big challenge by facing twelve countries for men and ten for women, all of which show great progress, such as Algeria, number 1, Egypt, Kenya and Benin. But we want to face the challenges to everything will continue. To achieve the goal, we need the support of the public,” concluded Jean Michel Ramaroson.
