PETALING JAYA: Men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Woy Yick survived a scare against Kenya’s Mitsuhashi-Hiroki Okamura of Japan before booking their place in the second round of the Denmark Open.
World No. 4 defending champion Aaron-Woi Yick was pushed hard by the World No. 19 Japanese team in the first game and used all their experience to eventually win 28-26 and comfortably win the 21st game. -11 in 48 minutes on Tuesday (October 15) at the Jyske Bank Arena in Odense.
The Paris Olympic bronze medalists will next face world number 15 teammate Man Wei Chong-Tie Kai-Wun in the second round.
