The Department of Health and Nutrition is implementing a project to learn about and put into practice nutritional support for female athletes.
We regularly hold physical measurement sessions for the members of the Komazawa Gakuen Girls’ High School Baseball Club. As high school students are in their growing stages, their body composition changes significantly, so we aim to provide regular measurements to help manage their own condition. This time, we returned the results of the measurement session and held a nutritional education course.
This time, the light meals served before the lecture were two types of cooked rice. It was very popular with the players, and many of them asked for substitutes. In the dietary education course, regarding body composition measurement results, we will discuss not only changes in weight but also the importance of paying attention to increases in lean body mass index (LBMI)*, condition management (how to deal with menstruation, lack of energy, etc.) I talked about the problem of
- *LBMI: Lean Body Mass Index, fat-free weight LBM (kg) ÷ body length (m) ÷ body length (m)でquestめる
We will continue to support junior high and high school athletes who are working hard in club activities through nutritional education activities!
We would like to thank all the players and advisors who participated.
