Mayor Federico Gutiérrez will officially announce these sanctions, which respond to clashes between fans of both teams, and which seek to stop this type of violence in football. Additionally, a border closure, meaning visiting fans will not be able to attend matches that Atlético Nacional plays at home for the rest of the league and all of 2025.
The decision was made after an exhaustive review of more than eight hours of recordings, in order to identify those responsible for the riots. In this process, members of the “Banda Pirata” bar will be especially investigated, who, if identified, could face a ban from entering stadiums for a period of three years.
For its part, Atlético Nacional issued an official statement on its social networks condemning the violent events and calling for peace and respect in sporting arenas. “That emotions do not surpass respect for the life and integrity of people”indicated the club, expressing solidarity with those affected by the excesses and reaffirming its commitment to peaceful coexistence in football. The team reiterated its participation in spaces such as the Football Coexistence and Safety Table and highlighted social programs, such as “My First Green Party”, which seek to promote a family and respectful atmosphere in the stadiums.

The measures adopted aim not only to punish those responsible, but also to promote a safer and more harmonious environment in Colombia’s stadiums, with a view to preventing these episodes from being repeated in the future.
