Angers Bounces Back with a Victory Against Valenciennes
After suffering a defeat against Saint-Étienne earlier this week, Angers showcased an impressive comeback during the 13th day of League 2 by securing a home win against Valenciennes with a score of 2-0. The team’s coach, Alexandre Dujeux, expressed his thoughts on this triumph during a press conference, highlighting the significance of this victory in reclaiming the second spot in the league standings.
A Well-Executed Game Plan
Dujeux emphasized the team’s dominance in the first half, stating, “We took control of the game early on. Our performance in the second half improved significantly. The players executed the game plan exceptionally well during the first half, and overall, we fully deserved this victory.”
He further added, “I wanted the team to continue playing even after securing a 2-0 lead. Merely preserving the scoreline is not the optimal solution. Our group possesses quality, strong moral values, and a genuine desire to excel in this championship.”
Regarding Farid El Melali’s outstanding performance in the first half, Dujeux expressed his satisfaction, saying, “I am very pleased with Farid El Melali’s contribution. However, I decided to substitute him due to the yellow card he received. Leaving him on the field would have posed a risk for the team.”
