Once dreaming of just flying on a plane, 14-year-old Anderson Matteos da Silva Pinheiro has soared higher than he ever imagined, clinching a bronze medal and a team gold in the SL3-SU5 class at the Gymnasiade Games in Serbia. Anderson’s incredible journey in Parabadminton is an inspiration to athletes worldwide.
Discovering His Passion, Changing His Life
Born with a congenital hip malformation, Anderson’s world expanded when he started playing futsal at 10. After discovering Para Badminton, he fell in love with the sport. Just four months into playing, Anderson claimed his first gold medal at the Paraná school games, and since then, there’s been no looking back.
