The number of American tourist and business visas approved for Colombians increased by 13% in the last year, reaching an approval rate of 67%, according to a report by the firm Visas Gómez & Asociados. This growth represents a significant achievement for Colombia, which has climbed positions in the Latin American ranking of approvals, now ranking second, only behind Brazil.
This significant increase is attributed, in part, to the growing tendency of Colombians to seek professional advice for their visa applications. In fact, the report highlights that 8 out of 10 applications processed through specialized agencies are approved, which underlines the importance of having adequate support during the process.
The report also warns of the risks of turning to unauthorized agents, who could defraud applicants. Currently, there are around 30 legally constituted agencies in Colombia that offer reliable immigration advisory services.
