Algerian Para-Judo Team Heads to Cairo Grand Prix-2025 with High Hopes
Algeria’s Para-Judo national team (Visuals) is set to participate in the IBSA Grand Prix-2025, scheduled for August 18-19 in Cairo, Egypt. The five-member team, comprising both men and women, is eyeing another successful outing after bronze medal finishes at previous events.
Building on Previous Success
“Another competition is available for our athletes to assess their preparation and readiness to compete with familiar and new opponents,” said Algeria’s national Para-Judo coach, Mounia Kerkar.
Cairo Grand Prix Expectations
- Over 100 athletes from around 20 countries expected.
- Delegates from the International Judo Federation (FIJ) to supervise tests.
- Algeria’s participation in the men’s and women’s -70kg and -95kg categories.
Algerian Athletes in Action
The Algerian team will compete in the following divisions:
Men’s -70kg
- D1: Ishak Korichi, Nabil Sinacer, Abdelkader Bouamer.
- D2: Ishak Ouldkouider.
Men’s -95kg
- D1: Abderrahmane Chétouane.
