The leading Bulgarian skier Albert Popov and our second strongest Alpine skier Kalin Zlatkov will start in the season’s first slalom for the World Cup in Levi (Finland).
The race at the “Levi Black” track in Lapland will be on November 17 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and will be broadcast live by BNT 3 and Eurosport 1.
For Popov, this will be the first start of the season, and for Zlatkov, his debut in a World Cup competition.
Before Levi, the two trained on snow in Kaabdalis (Shv). Kalin started the season with a 14th place in the giant slalom and a slalom win at the FIS starts in Perito Moreno (Arge). In the latest FIS ranking, Zlatkov is 89th.
For Albert Popov, this will be the 10th season in the World Cup. To date, he has one 3rd place finish in slalom for SC at Palisades (USA) in 2023 and a total of 4 top 10 finishes in slalom.
Popov’s best ranking in Levy is 20th place in the slalom in November 2020. After the competitions in Lapland, Albert will travel to Austria, where the second world cup slalom is to be held on November 24 in Gurgel.
Zlatkov will stay in Levi for the two slaloms for the European Cup on November 23 and 24.
