Tennis star Daniil Medvedev is being asked to pay for his bad behavior at the Australian Open. After several missteps surrounding his surprising second-round knockout, last year’s finalist has to pay a fine of $76,000 (74,000 euros).

In Melbourne, Medvedev hit the net with his racket during a fit of rage in the opening game against the Thai Kasidit Samrej, destroying a camera and his racket. After the following elimination against qualifier Learner Tien (USA), the Russian skipped the obligatory press conference deep into the Australian night.

During the five-set marathon, the world number five had already thrown his racket against an advertising banner and argued with the referee after several foot errors while serving.
