Ivan Jurić is no longer Roma’s coach, the Italian great confirmed on his official website. The 49-year-old Croatian coach lost his job after only 12 games on the Roma bench, and yesterday’s defeat against Bologna at the Olimpico decided him.
Roma was defeated 3-2 at home against the guests from Bologna, and it was Jurić’s fourth defeat in eight league matches. Although he started the domestic championship with two consecutive victories, his team has had bad results, and in the Europa League they are in a weak 20th place.
He arrived on the bench of the famous Italian club on September 18 after Daniele de Rossi was fired. Since then, he has led the team in 12 games, achieving a performance of four wins, three draws and five losses. Roma thanked Jurić on their official website, and despite the speculation, his successor is still unknown. The main candidate is the former coach of Italy, Roberto Mancini.
“We want to thank Ivan Jurić for his hard work in the last few weeks. He handled the difficult environment with the utmost professionalism and we are grateful to him for that. We wish him all the best in the future. The search for a new coach has already begun and in the next few days we will announce who it will be,” says Roma’s official website.
