Adrian Peterson Arrested on Suspicion of Drunken Driving in Minnesota

Former Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson was arrested early Friday morning in Minneapolis on suspicion of drunken driving, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Speeding and High BAC Led to Arrest

Peterson, 40, was spotted by a trooper around 3:20 a.m. driving an Audi Q5 south on Highway 77 near E. 66th Street in Richfield. He was clocked driving 83 mph in a 55 mph zone.

“He was cooperative throughout the course of his arrest.”

Peterson was administered a preliminary breath test, which measured his blood alcohol content at 0.14%, nearly twice the legal limit in Minnesota.

Arraignment Scheduled for May

Peterson was booked on a misdemeanor count of fourth-degree driving while impaired and posted a $4,000 bond around 7:30 a.m. An arraignment has been scheduled for May 9 in Hennepin County District Court.

Peterson’s History with Law Enforcement

This arrest is the latest in a series of run-ins with law enforcement for Peterson, ranging from allegations of assaulting his son to seat belt violations.
