Supreme x Nike Air Force 1 Low: Shanghai Exclusive Release & Adidas ADIZERO EVO SL Launch

Modern York-based skate brand Supreme released a Shanghai-exclusive version of its Nike Air Force 1 Low, available only at the Supreme Shanghai Store starting May 18, 2024. This marks the first time Supreme has launched a regional-exclusive colorway.

Supreme’s Shanghai Exclusive Air Force 1 Low

The Shanghai-exclusive Air Force 1 Low features an all-white presentation accented with red on the lateral heel’s Supreme box logo and the leather Swooshes. The shoe will similarly include a spare set of Supreme-branded laces and branding on the tongue tag and sockliner. The retail price is $124 USD.

Adidas ADIZERO EVO SL Launch & Athlete Endorsements

Adidas recently launched its all-purpose running shoe, the ADIZERO EVO SL, and promoted it with an event featuring athletes including Formula 1 driver George Russell and Winter Olympic skiing gold medalist Su Yiming.

Hong Kong runner Huang Qile also attended the event and shared his experience with the ADIZERO EVO SL, stating, Earlier when I was preparing for the Marathon, I occasionally wore EVO SL for long training courses…The midsole of EVO SL has a certain thickness, which helps to dissipate the momentum.

ADIZERO EVO SL: Performance and Versatility

The ADIZERO EVO SL features a full-length Lightstrike Pro midsole, similar to Adidas’ top racing shoe, the PRO 4, but without the carbon fiber Energy Rods. The shoe’s functional mesh upper is breathable, making it suitable for humid weather. Huang Qile believes the shoe is enough to handle long courses ranging from easy pace to marathon pace.

Off-Season Training Advice from Huang Qile

Huang Qile recommends runners use the off-season to address weaknesses in their physical condition. He explained, I often use the metaphor of a car, a powerful engine. All must have an excellent frame to match. He suggests shorter distances and a brisk pace to maintain fitness during the off-season.

Su Yiming, discussing the aesthetics of speed, said: The beauty of speed is unique and has its own way of expression. When I am skiing, I fly up to the jumping platform and then have enough time to take off to enjoy the flight. This is how speed makes me feel.
