The purpose was to verify compliance with the rules, safeguard animal welfare and reinforce the
measures in this commercial space. In the procedure, 14 wildlife modules were inspected, of which three received temporary suspensions due to non-compliance.
In total, 46 animals that were being marketed in inadequate conditions were rescued, many of them abused and sick.
Among the fauna found there are 36 birds of different species, two hamsters, three rabbits, two guinea pigs and a cockatoo, the latter considered wildlife. During the investigation, two dead animals were found: a duck and a rabbit.
In addition, 15 vehicles were inspected, eight motorcycles were immobilized and 42 traffic summonses were imposed for various violations.
The animals were transferred to specialized centers, where they will receive adequate care and their situation will be evaluated.
