About the history of the BPP Photographic Archive

Since August 8, the Medellín Public Library Piloto has been holding its 1st Photographic Festival, an event that celebrates the funds and collections of its Photographic Archive, and disseminates the visual legacy it safeguards. A festival with talks, workshops, conferences and the experiences of the Chamber of Wonders Museum.

The Festival closes with a conversation about the life and work of some photographers who have marked the history of photography in Medellín, and about the history of the acquisition by the BPP of two photographic collections that were fundamental to the consolidation of the Archive: the Benjamín de la Calle Collection and the Melitón Rodríguez Collection. Guests: Maribel Tabares and Juan Luis Mejía.
