Foligno Girls Crowned Jr. NBA FIP Champions, Ready for Interregional Showdown
Foligno, Italy – April 21st, 2025 – The UBS Basket Foligno Under 13 girls’ team,, have made history by becoming the regional champions of the Jr. NBA FIP tournament. The ‘Foligno Girls,’ as they’re affectionately known, are now gearing up for the interregional phase, aiming for a spot in the prestigious Campi d’Italia finale.
A Notable Triumph
The UBS Foligno girls crashed their way through the Regional Tournament, booked their tickets to the interregional stage by winning the Final Four, including two thrilling semifinals and two nail-biting finals. The pink-clad Folignati showcased their skills and determination on the home court at the Gentile da Foligno gym, with support from a boisterous home crowd.

The Jr. NBA FIP tournament featured combinations with NBA teams, adding a touch of international flavor to the domestic competition. The Foligno Girls left little to chance against their Umbrian rivals: the Blubasket Spoleto, Pink Basket Terni, and Umbertide Women’s Basketball.

Foligno Girls stormed into the final by first edging out the Ternane in a tense semifinal clash. In the other semifinal, Spoleto overcame Umbertide. The third-place playoff went to the Lakers, but the Final win belonged to the Folignati, closing the game with a convincing 52-20 victory, led by the inspirational captain Francesca Tamburrini, a promising figure in the Umbrian basketball scene.
