Now it’s official, Wout Van Aert will also be there at the start of the Giro d’Italia 2025 – 108th edition, from Durazzo to Rome from 9 May to 1 June – which was unveiled yesterday in Rome. This was confirmed by Visma-Lease a Bike from the retreat in La Nucia, Spain, where the Dutch squadron has set its seasonal objectives. And in the team for the Giro there will also be Simon Yates, king of the 2018 Vuelta and a long-time member of the Giro in 2018, and the sprinter Olav Kooij who has already scored on the pink roads.

For Van Aert it is an eagerly awaited debut: it was supposed to be there last year, but an injury prevented the 30-year-old Belgian from participating. As for Jonas Vingegaard, the rumors of recent weeks have been confirmed: therefore no Giro d’Italia for the 28-year-old Dane, who will challenge Tadej Pogacar again at the Tour de France and has not ruled out being at the start of the Vuelta, which will start from Venaria Reale on August 23rd.
