Gustavo Quinteros resigned from his position as coach Velez after conquering the Professional Soccer League. The fact generated some surprise among fans although it has already been confirmed. The coach signed with the Guild and will work in 2025 in Brazil.
That said, the Liniers team was quick and already found their replacement. The same is Sebastián Domínguez. The news was confirmed by journalist César Luis Merlo on Twitter “Sebastián Domínguez is the new coach of Vélez. He will leave Tigre and in the coming days he will sign a contract with Fortín”.
Given the fact, users on the networks are sharing mixed reactions. Domínguez comes from an irregular cycle with Tigre and now he will have a more complex challenge with Vélez, where he will play without going any further Copa Libertadores 2025.
Although their first big test will take place between February and March, when the Liniers team faces Central Cordoba for a new edition of the Argentine Super Cup. Vélez will have a chance for revenge after the frustration in the Argentine Cup.
Aquinas’ departure
After multiple twists and turns Claudio Aquino confirmed that he will not extend his contract with Vélez. The midfielder was fundamental in the conquest of the Professional Soccer League. But he did not reach an agreement with the Liniers team. It is still unknown what his new destination will be.
With that said, Aquino dedicated an emotional farewell message to the fans. He himself starts with these words: “I had to come at a difficult time and with a lot of effort we avoided relegation. Today I have to say goodbye, I leave in peace and with the tranquility of having left everything.”
