In the year of its 60th anniversary, the Quimperlé Tennis Club (TCQ) could not have dreamed better. His season was very successful, either in the game, with the head of the French club champion, or in terms of his organization in the new areas that have already been used.

Increase in permissions

The period of construction marked the decline of the group’s development, but this period is now forgotten. “We struggled in this sector, but today we have more licenses than in 2020, before covid and construction sites,” explains vice president Catherine Fauque.

In the 2023-2024 season, TCQ counted 735 licenses, including 296 for schools and 104 access licenses. The regular players are 306 for tennis and 29 for padel. “Average age is 26.5 years, we have 50% young people, women represent 29% of permits”.

The reference club

The reputation of TCQ goes beyond the borders of Brittany, the Quimperlois club has a great reputation. “This competition is our show and what has made our reputation good for our education and our teachers, but we are also very involved in creating entertainment, in tennis and with the padels we want to create”, Underlines President Basile. Tennis lessons, at the secondary school of Kerbertrand, gather 48 students (four elite, 21 prospective, seven in the preparatory tennis and 17 in the sports section). TCQ saw 33 teams enter the competition and organized around thirty matches, events and parties to set the whole season in sync. “We really have to meet this new tennis! » add the leaders who are currently working on winter preparations.
