The women’s volleyball team “Volley Rengo” achieved an outstanding participation in the “Promesas del Sur de Chile” championship, a contest that was held in the city of Puerto Montt.
The group of players obtained fourth place in the U15 category silver cup and second place in the U19 category gold cup, after competing last weekend. In addition, several of its players received individual awards, such as Julieta Miranda, who was named Best Setter and MVP of the championship, and Katalina Rojas, awarded Best Center.
The team, made up mostly of students and alumni of the Liceo Bicentenario de Excelencia Oriente, was led by a coaching staff of alumni including Bryan Pérez, Axel Pérez and Fabián Pinto and also highlighting Bárbara Huenteo.
Gabriela Muñoz, president of the Rengo Voley Club, highlighted the growth of the club, indicating that “we went with two categories to the Promesas del Sur national championship, the sub 15, where we obtained fourth place, and the sub 19, with which we achieved the second place in the gold final with Pumas de Puyehue.” In addition, he assured that Voley Rengo has been in existence for 10 months and currently has around 70 players, boys, girls and young people between 10 and 20 years old.
It is also worth highlighting the participation of the players Bárbara Román, Consuelo Valenzuela and Monserrat Banda.
Finally, Gabriela Muñoz added that, to be part of the club, those interested must register with a payment of 5 thousand pesos and attend training on Mondays and Tuesdays at the Luis Pavez Díaz de Rengo Sports Center Gymnasium, which are held between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
