Great sporting events for the Riccione autumn

From swimming to judo, from cycling to artistic gymnastics: many thousands of attendees are expected

RICCIONE (RN) – The Municipality of Riccione announces a rich calendar of sporting events that will be held between October and December. These events, supported by the municipal administration through patronage and economic benefits, pursue a dual objective: promoting sporting activity and its values, and encouraging tourism, a fundamental element for the local economy.

The events cover various disciplines, from swimming to judo, from cycling to artistic gymnastics, attracting athletes and enthusiasts from all over Italy and beyond. The mayor Daniela Angelini and the councilor for Sport Simone Imola underline: “Thanks to these events, a significant number of presences are expected in our hotels and accommodation facilities, with a positive impact on the entire city tourism chain, precisely in a period low season”.

The administration’s objective is to strengthen Riccione’s tourist vocation through sport, a sector which today represents not only an opportunity for practitioners, but also a territorial marketing lever.

Among the events scheduled, the Coni sporting merit award ceremony stands out, which will be held on 19 October at the Palazzo del Turismo. On this day, which also celebrates Riccione’s 102nd birthday, the results and commitment of athletes and sports managers will be recognized, with the participation of representatives of the local sports world.

The Riccione swimming trophy, scheduled for 26 and 27 October at the Swimming Stadium, will see the participation of around 1,000 athletes, accompanied by coaches and family members. This event represents a high-level national competition, providing an exceptional stage for young swimmers.

Running – 41st autumn classic will take place on 27 October with start and finish in via Arezzo. This edition expects the participation of around 500 runners, confirming the attractiveness of this event for running lovers.

From 31 October to 3 November, the Playhall will host the Green Camp new generation, an international judo training camp that will welcome around 500 youth athletes and a total of 600 attendees, including managers and coaches. The training sessions will be conducted by renowned technicians, offering participants a unique opportunity for sporting growth.

The 8th city of Riccione archery trophy will take place on 2 and 3 November at the Annika Brandi gym, involving around 200 archers. This event is included in the national Fitarco calendar and promises a high level of competition.

The Csen National Judo Championship will take place on 9 and 10 November at the Playhall, with the participation of 1,200 athletes, accompanied by coaches and family members. This is a very popular event, which underlines the importance of judo at a national level.

The International indoor cycling master days 2024 will take place from 22 to 24 November, again at the Playhall. With a program full of demonstration and training sessions for instructors, approximately 1,300 athletes from different nations are expected to participate.

The national artistic gymnastics gold student team championship will be held from November 29th to December 1st at the Playhall, involving around 750 athletes accompanied by technicians and managers. This event represents a showcase for young gymnastics promises.

On 14 December, the Oltremare theater will host the Assembly of the Italian sports dance and music sports federation, which will welcome around 450 participants, representing an important meeting opportunity for dance enthusiasts.

Finally, the Colle dei Pini cyclocross Riccione will take place on December 15th at the Parco delle Rose. This cycling-cyclocross event involves the participation of 220 athletes, accompanied by 25 technicians and approximately 300 spectators are expected, consolidating Riccione as one of the favorite destinations for sporting events.

The municipal administration is proud to support these initiatives, in the belief that events of this magnitude can not only promote sport, but also contribute significantly to the local economy, strengthening the identity and prestige of Riccione as a welcoming and dynamic city ”.
