Sapiencia began the call for the nineteenth edition of the awards Medellín Investigates. There is an opportunity to participate until October 20.
Los Medellín Investigates It is a recognition that promotes research and innovation in the city, awarding $391 million in recognition, among the 19 winners of the three categories.
Salomón Cruz Zirene, director of Sapiencia, considered that the awards Medellín Investigates They are essential for knowledge management in our city.
“In addition, they promote collaboration between the four helices (State, academia, business and civil society), which brings us closer to our objective of consolidating ourselves as a true Science, Technology and Innovation District.”
The resources will be delivered like this:
- Category Research with the greatest impact of the year: five awards of $40 million each, destined for research concluded between July 2023 and July 2024, that improves the quality of life.
- Category Featured Undergraduate Students: There will be 13 awards of $14 million each, for students who have demonstrated excellent academic performance and participation in research projects.
- Category Distinction from the Mayor’s Office of Medellín for a life dedicated to research: This year, for the first time, an incentive of $9 million will be awarded to recognize the career of a researcher with national and international impact.
In addition to the awards ceremony, forums and training spaces will be organized to generate synergies between researchers and the student population, with topics such as digital and sustainable transformation, air quality and the regulation of artificial intelligence.
