Two medals for the Azzurri in the continental time trial: title for the Mantuan, third for the Bergamo athlete
Two medals immediately for Italy at the European Cycling Championships that opened today in Belgian Limburg. Edoardo Affini, from Mantua and Visma, crowned a great comeback against the Swiss Stefan Kung, who started as the favorite, to win the continental title. Affini completed the 31.3 km in 35’15”47, at an average speed of over 53 km/h. Kung finished 10” behind, and the bronze medal went to Mattia Cattaneo, at 20”. Among the women, the title went to Belgian Lotte Kopecky, silver to Van Dijk (Ola) at 44”, bronze to Austrian Schweinberger at 1’02”. Fifth Guazzini at 1’08”.
