FV Endenich – SpVg Porz 4:0 (2:0): After the dream start with the 4:0 away win in Frechen, FV Endenich followed a wild game with a good outcome in front of their own fans a week later. After a 2:0 half-time lead and a 2:3 deficit until the 76th minute against a SpVg Porz that was particularly strong after the break, coach Ali Meybodi’s team won 4:3 (2:0) in the end.
“I was on a rollercoaster for 90 minutes,” said Meybodi, describing the game on Röckumstrasse. Marcel Dawidowski with his third goal of the season (19th) and Ertugul Ünal with the half-time whistle had deservedly put the hosts in the lead. But then the guests turned things up, while Endenich initially lost the plot. “With every Porz goal, my boys got more nervous,” explained the Endenich coach. Porz, which increasingly benefited from the home team’s erratic style of play in the second half, turned the game around with goals in the 50th, 56th and 76th minutes. But then Endenich took control again. “In the final phase, we obviously wanted the win more than our opponents did,” said Meybodi. And so Jakub Merlan-Jarecki managed to equalize at 3:3 in the 85th minute. Two minutes later, substitute Beckly Gwe Fontem celebrated the 4-3, which would last until the final whistle.

August 29, 2024: Don’t let up
After the dream start comes the next test. For FV Endenich, the league start could hardly have gone better with the 4-0 away win at Frechen 20, who finished fourth last season. Now, after the cup match at district league club FC Blau-Weiß Friesdorf on Sunday (3:15 p.m.), SpVg. Porz is coming to Endenich’s Röckumstrasse. It is hardly surprising that Ali Meybodi is almost showering his players with praise. “However,” the Endenich head coach adds, “that was no more than an initial assessment of the situation. It is clear that we were in better form last Sunday. Now we must not let up if we are to prevail against a difficult opponent.”
Porz lost its first home game against Siegburg 0-2. For Meybodi, that’s no reason to underestimate the opponent before the first home game. “Porz is an emotional and combative team. We have to accept that from the first minute on Sunday,” said Meybodi. With the exception of new signing Ergün Yildiz, the FVE coach can rely on the entire squad. If Endenich also wins against Porz, first place in the table is in sight again.
August 25, 2024: Dream start to the season
SpVg Frechen 20 – FV Endenich 0:4 (0:2): A dream start for FV Endenich in the new season of the Middle Rhine Football League. At SpVg Frechen 20, the team of new coach Ali Meybodi won by a surprising margin of 4:0 (2:0). “That was a very, very good game from my team, and I take my hat off to them,” praised the FVE coach. “In addition to the very mature performance, we scored the goals at the right time today.”
Marcel Dawidowski made it 1-0 for the visitors in the 20th minute. Against a dismayed home team, Jakub Rufus Merlan-Jarecki increased the lead to 2-0 in the 33rd minute. The first few minutes after the break belonged to the hosts. “That made the 3-0 all the more important,” said Meybodi. Fabian Ruan Ferreira-Böcker scored Endenich’s third goal (66th minute). After Frechen missed a penalty in the 70th minute and Dawidowski was able to increase the lead to 4-0 (72nd minute), Endenich’s perfect start to the season was finally perfect.
