The new BBL season begins in about three weeks – and the FC Bayern basketball players are currently putting the finishing touches on things.
Four new signings have already been confirmed, the squad of World Champion Coach Gordon Herbert (65) but not yet complete.
Sport BILD introduces the new Bayern stars who are set to go on the hunt for titles again after the departure of mega-star Serge Ibaka (34/to Madrid).
▶️ Oscar da Silva (25/Barcelona): The national player, who took fourth place at the Olympics in Paris, is full of brains! The 2.06-meter-tall man was born in Munich. His father Valdemar comes from Sao Paulo/Brazil, and his mother Christine comes from the Allgäu region. After graduating from high school (average grade of 1.7), he studied biochemistry at the elite Stanford University in California. He has his degree in his pocket, and now he played college basketball. He ended up in Barcelona in 2022 via Ludwigsburg and Berlin. He has signed with Bayern until 2027. As a child, he had a season ticket for the Bayern basketball team, and now he is chasing titles: “The goal at Bayern is always to win. This is not a club that just wants to be there, I know that. Last season it was the double and now the aim should be to get the double-double, so to speak – even though I know how difficult and long the road to this goal is.”
His younger brother Tristan (23) plays in the NBA for Orlando Magic.

▶️ Johannes Voigtmann (31/Milan): He is the experienced player. After eight years abroad (including Vitoria and Moscow), the 2023 world champion is returning to Germany and has signed until 2027. Curiously, he played handball until he was 16, and was Thuringian national champion, among other things. But with a height of 2.11 meters, he ultimately prevailed in basketball. The captain of the national team knows his new Munich head coach well: he already trained under the former national team coach in Frankfurt (2013-16). Important for the family man: his wife Amrei (a native of Munich) and two children are moving with him.
▶️ Kevin Yebo (28/Chemnitz): He describes himself on Instagram as a sporty nerd. His plan: “I want to bring my energy to Munich. The fans and my teammates should see that I always give my all and that there is someone there who enjoys basketball,” says Yebo. The Bonn native has experience in the premier league, in Chemnitz he was the points guarantor (15.7 points on average). Always by his side: girlfriend Mala! The influencer calls herself “Juicy Mala” and lets her followers share in her private life. The couple have a son together.

▶️ Jam Madar (23/Fenerbahce Istanbul): The point guard has signed until 2026 and is expected to score points on a regular basis. In the scene, he is already affectionately nicknamed the “Curry of Europe.” The Israeli may not yet be as good as NBA legend Steph Curry, but his movements and reliable shots are promising and reminiscent of the young Curry. Before his time in Istanbul, his star rose at Partizan Belgrade, and in 2023 he was crowned “Rising Star” in the premier class. However, his development stalled at the Turkish champions, and now the mega talent sees his chance in Munich.
