The first date of the League Cup has concluded, the novel Chilean soccer tournament, with Everton’s 2-1 victory against Palestino marking the conclude of the opening round.

Tournament Format

The championship features all 16 First Division teams divided into four groups, playing round-trip duels. The top four teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, contested over two legs, culminating in a single-match final.

The champion will earn a coveted spot in the 2027 Copa Libertadores as Chile 3 and will as well participate in the next edition of the Super Cup. The final is scheduled for July 19.

First-Round Winners

Only three teams secured victories on the first date of the League Cup: Audax Italiano defeated Unión La Calera 3-0, Universidad Católica beat UdeC 2-1, and Everton triumphed over Palestino.

These teams now lead their respective groups. In Group A, Deportes Concepción leads by virtue of having scored the most goals.
