Brannenburg – Christian Zweckstätter has emerged victorious in the mayoral runoff election in Brannenburg, prevailing against Hubert Estner. The election took place on March 22, 2026, after neither candidate secured an absolute majority in the initial vote on March 8th.

Close Race Decided in Runoff

Hubert Estner (CSU) conceded defeat to Christian Zweckstätter (Junges Dorf Brannenburg), receiving 44.4 percent of the vote compared to Zweckstätter’s 55.6 percent. Voter turnout for the runoff election was 55.3 percent, a decrease from the 63.6 percent participation in the first round.
