World Baseball Classic Returns to Ultimate Team in MLB The Show 26

The launch of MLB The Show 26 brings a massive influx of World Baseball Classic (WBC) content to Diamond Dynasty, offering players a wealth of opportunities to build competitive rosters and earn valuable rewards. San Diego Studio has revamped the WBC experience, breaking it down into four separate programs mirroring the real-life 2026 tournament structure. Each pool offers unique challenges and rewards, providing a deeper and more engaging experience than previous iterations.

How the WBC Program Works

The WBC program is integrated into the Ultimate Team Mini-Season mode. Players can replace a licensed league with the WBC tournament, allowing them to play a full schedule with their customized Ultimate Team lineups. Customization options include choosing between 7- or 28-game seasons and 3- or 9-inning games, providing flexibility for different playstyles and time commitments.

Each of the four pools (A, B, C, and D) features a common set of tasks alongside unique Player tasks and PXP tasks related to WBC-branded cards.

• Complete WBC knockout round (10 points)
• Use WBC series cards to complete a series of tasks (3 points each)

The Series mission objectives are consistent across all pools:

• Pitching 30 games
• Getting 60 strikeouts
• Getting 50 hits
• Getting 30 slugging hits
• Hitting 20 home runs

Rewards for Each Pool

Each pool follows a structured reward system, with player cards earned at milestones of 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100 points. MLB The Show 26 card packs and XP rewards are distributed throughout. The headline reward for each pool is an 89 OVR card at 100 points.

Several key cards were announced alongside the program launch, including 90 OVR Munetaka Murakami, 89 OVR Hyun-Min Ahn, 88 OVR Travis Bazzana, and 87 OVR Jac Cagliaone. 87 OVR Jarren Duran was also among the first WBC cards revealed.

Pool Highlights

Pool A represents Cuba, Panama, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Colombia, culminating in an 89 OVR Nolan Arenado reward. Pool B features Brazil, Mexico, Italy, the UK, and the US, with 89 OVR Bryce Harper as the top prize. Pool C showcases the Czech Republic, Australia, Chinese Taipei, South Korea, and Japan, offering the Tokyo Dome stadium unlock at just 5 points and an 89 OVR Hyun-Min Ahn reward. Finally, Pool D covers Nicaragua, Netherlands, Israel, Venezuela, and the Dominican Republic, with 89 OVR Didi Gregorius as the ultimate reward.

New Parallel Mods and WBC Cards

MLB The Show 26 introduces a new Parallel XP System, allowing players to target attribute boosts to specific areas rather than spreading them evenly. This provides greater customization and control over player development. Hitters now receive the same parallel XP as pitchers, addressing a long-standing imbalance.

Maximizing Your Score Efficiently

1. Complete the WBC knockout tournament in each pool (10 points).
2. Complete all 10 Moments in each pool (30 points total).
3. Utilize WBC cards in mini-season competition to earn PXP.
4. Prioritize player tasks by OVR requirements.
5. Repeat PXP tasks to fill remaining gaps.

All WBC content will be rolled out throughout the season, ensuring players have ongoing opportunities to earn rewards.

Which Pool to Start With?

For players with limited time, Pool B, featuring Bryce Harper, offers the strongest single reward. Pool D, with 85 OVR Juan Soto available at 60 points, is a good option for high-quality cards without reaching 100 points. Pool C is ideal for stadium rewards, unlocking the Tokyo Dome at just 5 points.

Looking Ahead: WBC Content Throughout the Season

The WBC program is part of a larger content calendar for Diamond Dynasty. Following the Real World Championship, a Finals MVP Card will be added to the collection, providing additional rewards tied to actual tournament results. More than 130 player cards related to the WBC will be available across all four pool programs and 20 participating national teams.
