MILAN — The United States has achieved a remarkable feat, winning Paralympic gold in Para ice hockey to complete a sweep of all three hockey tournaments at the Milan Cortina 2026 games. Whereas the Olympic gold for the U.S. Men’s team was their first since 1980, the Paralympic team has established a dominant legacy. The U.S. Has won six of the past seven editions of the Winter Paralympics.

This was a third straight loss in the final for Canada, who previously won gold on Italian ice in Turin in 2006.

Record-Breaking Attendance

Sunday’s final set a new attendance record for the sport at a major tournament, with 10,795 fans in attendance. The previous record was set during the preliminary round game between the U.S. And Italy, drawing 8,992 spectators.
