Pickleball Awards: Fierce Competition Heats Up as Voting Nears Close

The Vietnam Pickleball Awards 2025 are generating significant buzz, with over 1,900 nominations received from the pickleball community nationwide. As voting enters its final stretch, several categories are witnessing intense competition between leading contenders.

Dominance in Key Categories

In the prestigious Best Male Athlete of the Year category, Tran Ngoc Trieu, known as Trieu “badminton,” currently holds the top spot. Ly Hoang Nam is a close second, with a minimal difference in votes separating the two. The race for the title promises to be a thrilling conclusion. Other nominees in the top eight include Do Minh Quan, Nguyen Dac Tien, Vu Huu Tri, Hung Anh, Thang Nguyen, and Dinh Quang Linh.

The excitement extends to doubles competition. Trieu “badminton” and his partner Dat “tro” lead the Best Men’s Doubles Players of the Year category. Do Minh Quan and Truong Vinh Hien are in second place, poised to potentially move ahead. Ly Hoang Nam and Le Xuan Duc currently hold the third position.

In the Best Female Athlete category, Sophia Phuong Anh enjoys a significant lead. She and Sophia Huynh Tran are also strong contenders in the Best Women’s Doubles category, currently in second place behind Truc Panda/Jolie Lam.
