BNP Paribas Open: Tennis Points Translate to Dollars for Girls on the Run

Indian Wells, CA – Every rally at the 2026 BNP Paribas Open is worth more than just a point on the scoreboard. For the third consecutive year, BNP Paribas is converting each point played into a $1 donation for Girls on the Run International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls through physical activity and life skills development.

Points for Change: A Winning Combination

The Points for Change initiative, activated during the BNP Paribas Open (March 4-15), demonstrates a powerful synergy between sports sponsorship and social responsibility. This year’s collaboration also marks the 30th anniversary of Girls on the Run, celebrating three decades of impact.

The funds raised will support both the national Girls on the Run organization and its local council in the Coachella Valley, providing crucial funding for evidence-based programs. These programs aim to build self-confidence, promote emotional intelligence and develop resilience in girls ages eight to fourteen.

A Growing Legacy of Support

Last year, the 2025 BNP Paribas Open generated $26,755 for Girls on the Run, with 26,755 points scored during the tournament. The initiative has expanded beyond the Indian Wells tournament, encompassing all professional tournaments sponsored by BNP Paribas, with a point meter available on the bank’s We Are Tennis website to track progress in real time.

BNP Paribas is again proud to partner with Girls on the Run through our Points for Change initiative. BNP Paribas firmly believes that tennis can be a catalyst for change, inspiring others around the world to achieve more.

Beyond the Court: A Commitment to ESG

For BNP Paribas, which has a 50-year history of tennis sponsorship, Points for Change represents an evolution towards a modern ESG (environmental, social, and governance) strategy. It’s a shift from simply displaying a logo to creating a measurable, positive impact.

We are honored to partner once again with a global organization like BNP Paribas through the Points for Change project which drives significant transformation in the world of youth sports equality.

The Rise of Values-Based Sponsorship

Analysts note a growing trend of companies seeking to make tangible social contributions through their sponsorships. Interactive fundraising models like Points for Change foster a deeper connection between events, fans, and social causes, enhancing visibility for supported organizations and positioning sponsors as responsible corporate citizens.

As the BNP Paribas Open concludes on March 15th, the total donation amount will continue to grow with each point played. The initiative underscores a powerful message: in sport, every point truly counts, and can make a difference in the world.
