Indian Wells, CA – Belinda Bencic (WTA 12) began her campaign at the WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells with a confident victory over Australian qualifier Storm Hunter (WTA 234). Bencic defeated Hunter 6-3, 6-2 in a match lasting just one hour and 17 minutes.

Bencic demonstrated strong composure throughout the match, particularly on crucial points. Despite conceding two breaks, she effectively neutralized Hunter’s attack, saving five of seven break points (71%).
