The Club Deportivo Bádminton Albatros Cuenca has demonstrated increasing strength in national badminton competitions, with recent tournaments yielding impressive results for its athletes.

Strong Performances at Master Tournaments

Daniela Rodríguez and Jaime Perona, representing Albatros in the U15 category, competed in a MASTER Tournament in Las Torres de Cotillas, Murcia. The tournament featured a direct elimination format for individual events and a mixed phase for doubles.

Daniela Rodríguez’s Podium Finish

Daniela Rodríguez advanced through the U15 Women’s Singles bracket, defeating Nadia Padilla from Bádminton Rute in a challenging three-set match (21-13, 19-21, 21-14). She continued her strong performance, reaching the quarterfinals before facing Daniela González from Bádminton Arjonilla. Despite a close contest, Rodríguez ultimately secured a third-place finish in the MASTER tournament.

Jaime Perona’s Competitive Showing

Jaime Perona also reached the quarterfinals in the U15 Men’s Individual event. He defeated Marek López from Badminton Cartagena in three sets (21-17, 23-25, 21-17) before facing Álvaro Giménez from Bádminton Infante. Perona finished the MASTER tournament in third place.

Rodríguez and Perona also paired up for the U15 Mixed Doubles, but faced tough competition and did not advance to the elimination bracket, finishing in fifth place.

Success at the TTR Tournament in Villanueva de la Torre

Pablo Jiménez, Samuel Rodríguez, Marcos Romero, Mateo Higueras, Kristina Stanislavova and Álvaro Soriano also competed in a TTR Tournament in Villanueva de la Torre.

Soriano’s U13 Triumph

Álvaro Soriano, in the U13 Men’s Individual, reached the quarterfinals before being defeated, finishing fifth overall. However, he teamed up with Álvaro Albarrán from Badminton GooseWings to win the U13 Men’s Doubles, becoming TTR CHAMPIONS.

Stanislavova’s U17 Victory

Kristina Stanislavova dominated the U17 Women’s Individual, winning each match to reach the final and ultimately claiming the TTR CHAMPION title against Claudia Santibañez.

Stanislavova and Unai Romero from Badminton Drop Toledo also excelled in the U17 Mixed Doubles, winning all their matches to become TTR CHAMPIONS.

Absolute Men’s Individual: A Strong Showing

Pablo Jiménez, Marcos Romero, Samuel Rodríguez, and Mateo Higueras competed in the Absolute Men’s Individual, navigating a challenging bracket of 30 players. All four Albatros athletes advanced through the initial rounds, with three matches resolved in three sets. They continued to win, reaching the quarterfinals. Jiménez and Higueras finished in a shared fifth place, whereas Romero and Rodríguez faced each other in the semifinals. Romero ultimately advanced to the final, where he was narrowly defeated by Hugo Sanz, becoming the RUNNER-UP CHAMPION.

Absolute Men’s Doubles Champions

The duo of Marcos Romero and Samuel Rodríguez secured the TTR CHAMPION title in the Absolute Men’s Doubles, defeating Adrián Monroy and Rafael Carrasco from Bádminton Montilla in the final (21-16, 21-12).
