This upcoming tour represents the sixth time the Vendée-based troupe will travel to the United States for performances. They will be entertaining crowds during five NBA halftimes, bringing their signature blend of athleticism and artistry to American basketball fans.

A Dream Realized for Valentin Couturier

While the Barjots Dunkers have performed in major basketball leagues before, this trip holds special significance for Valentin Couturier, who is making his first visit to the United States with the team. Having joined the troupe in 2011, Couturier expressed his excitement about the opportunity.

I’ll finally be able to taste the NBA, I’ve never been there before, he says with barely contained joy. It’s the Holy Grail, we’re reaching the pinnacle of world basketball. I’m lucky enough to be able to go there and experience the American dream a little bit.

Couturier, who initially focused on competitive gymnastics before transitioning to entertainment, emphasized the team’s connection to basketball despite diverse backgrounds.

We’re not all basketball players in the squad. I wasn’t, but I always had that connection with basketball.

A Global Phenomenon

The Barjots Dunkers, established in 2004, have performed over 2,000 shows worldwide, captivating audiences with their innovative and spectacular routines. They have graced the courts of EuroLeague, the French National Team, and NBA teams including the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls, Utah Jazz, Toronto Raptors, San Antonio Spurs, and Washington Wizards.

The team is known for its pioneering use of LED technology, illuminated trampolines, and visually stunning effects, transforming each performance into an unforgettable experience.

Looking Ahead

The Barjots Dunkers are not limiting their ambitions to the United States. They are eager to expand their reach to Asia, Africa, and other continents, continuing to push the boundaries of acrobatic basketball and share their unique brand of entertainment with the world.

We are open to all opportunities, we do not close any doors on the international market. We would like to be able to go to other continents. I think that’s what makes our troop strong, to never stop and to always have the vision.
