The 44th All India Major Ports Shuttle Badminton Tournament concluded Friday at the Deendayal Port Authority in Kandla, Gujarat, following four days of competitive matches. Teams representing Major Ports across India participated in the event, demonstrating thrilling matches and exceptional sporting display.

Veterans Division Crowns Champions

The Veterans division saw several exciting matchups. Mormugao and VOC Ports took the top spot in the Women’s 45+ category. Vizag Port secured titles in both the Men’s 45+ singles and doubles events. JNPA excelled in the Veterans Men’s singles and doubles, while Chennai Port claimed victory in the Mixed Doubles, with Paradip Port also performing well in mixed doubles.

Open Categories See Intense Competition

In the Open categories, Paradip Port won the Women’s singles title, and Chennai Port secured the Women’s doubles title. Cochin Port dominated the Men’s Open category, sweeping all events.

Team Championships Awarded

Team championships were also awarded. Vizag Port was crowned the Veterans Team Champion, Paradip Port took the Women’s Team Championship, and Chennai Port Authority secured the Men’s Team Championship.

The tournament was conducted smoothly under the supervision of a team of National Referees from the Gujarat Badminton Association, led by Vinod Shah, Chief Referee, who appreciated the discipline and sportsmanship displayed by the players.
