Local Athletes Compete Fiercely in National Ranking Event

Huesca badminton players demonstrated strong performances at the recent tournament in Alfajarín, securing multiple silver medals across various age categories. Hugo Gállego and Lucía Rodríguez were among the standout competitors, reaching the finals in their respective events.

Gállego’s Near Misses in U-17 Competition

Hugo Gállego partnered with Sara Arenas (Volante Rute) and reached the final in the U-17 mixed doubles, ultimately falling to Alba Pérez (Lardero)-Pablo Sanz (Hoyo de Manzanares) in a close three-set match. The final score was 16-21, 24-22, and 11-21.

Lucía Rodríguez, alongside Telma Ruso, secured a silver medal in the U-13 women’s doubles, losing a thrilling three-set final against Yue Fucha-Vega López (21-18, 18-21, 21-17) after a 49-minute contest.
