EXAMIA: Pioneering Sponsorship for Spanish Cadet Judo & English Language Learners

EXAMIA Steps Up to Support Minority Sport and English Language Education

In a groundbreaking move, EXAMIA, a leading Cambridge English examination center, has launched a sponsorship program aimed at promoting judo for cadets and supporting English language learners across Spain. This initiative, the first of its kind, seeks to fill a void in official sponsorship and financial aid for grassroots sports and language education.

Direct Aid for Medaling Judokas

“EXAMIA will offer up to €200 in direct aid to federated judokas in the Cadet category who meddle in the Spanish U-18 Championship,” announced Ricardo Freires, EXAMIA’s director. “We see the parallels between the discipline and sacrifice required for judo and passing an official Cambridge English exam.”

“Unfortunately, in the field of sport, this enormous sacrifice is often little recognized.”

Olympians and Champions Unite to Promote the Campaign

  • David García Torné (Olympic contender for Paris 2024)
  • Asier Murillo (recent Spanish absolute champion -60k)
  • Mireia Rodríguez (recent Spanish absolute runner-up -48k)
  • Adriana Rodríguez (Paris Grand Slam participant, #41 in world ranking)

The renowned judokas have joined forces to publicize these scholarships among national athletes.

Scholarships for English Language Students and Educators

EXAMIA is also rewarding the best English students under 21 years old, preparing for official Cambridge English exams, with scholarships ranging from €100 to €150, depending on the level (B2, C1, C2). Moreover, the educator whose student achieves the highest score also receives a €200 scholarship. “We want to recognize the essential work of the teachers,” said Freires.

Aiming for a Thousand Euros in Scholarship Bonanza

If a federated judoka obtains a medal in the Spanish Cadet Championship and aces their Cambridge English exam, they could earn up to €1000 in scholarship money through EXAMIA’s program.

Celebrating Discipline and Perseverance

Freires emphasizes, “We believe in the culture of effort…in that attitude that is not improvised and that is built day by day… These types of people deserve more than words: they deserve an impulse.”
