Get ready for a cycling extravaganza as both the Tour de France (TDF) and its women’s counterpart, Tour de France Femmes (TDFF), will commence outside of France for the first time in history, with the UK hosting the Grand Départs in 2027. This marquee doubleheader is set to inspire a new generation of cyclists and delight fans across the globe.

TDF & TDFF Grand Départs in the UK: A First

“This is a historic moment for both races,” said Lizzie Deignan, an Olympic silver medallist and British cycling legend.

In a significant moment for both races, cycling revelers in the UK will witness the following:

  • TDF: The prestigious race will kick off in Edinburgh, Scotland, on 2nd July 2027, marking the third time the TDF has visited the British Isles since 2007. The three-stage British tilt will see the peloton traverse spectacular landscapes, including the English Lake District and Welsh coal country before heading to mainland Europe.
  • TDFF: Just eight days later, on 30th July 2027, the TDFF will begin in Leeds, England. Over three stages, the women’s field will navigate through picturesque Yorkshire countryside before heading to London for a high-octane urban stage, then crossing the Channel into France.
