Mark your calendars, hockey enthusiasts! The annual Shootout on the Snye pond hockey tournament is back, offering a chance to experience classic Canadian four-on-four action. Here’s all you need to know to be part of the fun:
📅 When & Where
The puck drops at 6 pm on Friday, Feb. 20 and runs until 5 pm on Sunday, Feb. 22 on the Snye River, Fort McMurray.
💰 Early Bird Registration
- Registration: rmwb.ca/WinterPLAY
- Early bird discount: $40/player until Jan. 21
- Final deadline: $50/player until Feb. 2
🏒 Teams & Divisions
- Youth (under 18): Individual registration with balanced team creation based on skill level.
- Adults (18+): Register as a team or individual. Choose between competitive or non-competitive divisions.
All registered players receive a free Shootout on the Snye jersey!
🏆 What to Expect
Every team plays a minimum of three games over the first two days, with more games possible during playoffs on Sunday. Each game features four vs. four action, with a maximum of two substitutes.
Remember, this is a non-contact tournament with a focus on fun and celebration of our northern spirit.
📣 Calling All Referees!
Help make Shootout on the Snye a success by signing up as a referee. Referees earn $25 per 35-minute game.
