Dominican Judo Federation Eyes 10 Medals in 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – The Dominican Judo Federation (Fedojudo) has declared the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 as a major commitment, with lofty goals for its athletes. The regional multi-sport event is set to take place from July 24 to August 8 in the heart of the Caribbean.

Ambitious Targets for Santo Domingo 2026

In an annual ordinary meeting held on Sunday, Fedojudo president Gilberto García announced that the organization aims to clinch at least 10 medals in the upcoming regional Games. This target is a testament to the Federation’s commitment and confidence in the preparedness of its athletes.

“All our energy will be directed to the preparation and concentration of our athletes for the Central American and Caribbean Games in 2026. This will be our priority for next year. After August 8, we will continue our work plan,” said Mr. García.

Looking Back at 2025 Achievements

The Fedojudo president described 2025 as a year of great achievements, citing successful performances in the II Games Junior Pan American Games in Asunción, Paraguay, as well as the XXV Bolivarian Games Ayacucho-Lima. The Federation’s focus on children, cadet, and youth categories at the international level resulted in impressive outcomes, largely due to effective teamwork.
