VIII Solidarity Badminton Tournament ‘A Toy for Badminton’ Returns for a Festive and Giving Cause
The Huelva Municipal Sports Center ‘Andres Estrada’ will host the VIII Solidarity Badminton Tournament ‘A Toy for Badminton’ on Thursday, December 18, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This initiative, promoted by Recreativo Bádminton IES La Orden with the support of Huelva City Council and Atlantic Copper Foundation, returns to bring joy and solidarity to the Ciudad de los Niños school.
Promoting Sport, Solidarity, and Family Bonding
In the presentation of the event, the sports councilor for Health and Consumption, Maria de la O Rubio, encouraged citizens to join in a fun and sporting day where the IES La Orden Badminton Club brings sport to the whole family. The president of the club, María Eugenia Lorenzo, highlighted the tournament as the most important of the year, stating it unites all that their club represents: badminton, solidarity, and commitment to Huelva.

On this occasion, with ‘A Toy for Badminton’ we have already completed eight editions helping the boys and girls who need it most through a sporting activity and in a very special time such as the run-up to Christmas.”

The director of the Ciudad de los Niños School, Diego Gómez, expressed gratitude towards everyone involved, emphasizing the happiness it brings to the children. The tournament’s purpose is to offer a fun, festive, and solidarity-filled day for all levels and audiences, promoting badminton and collaborating with social work.
How to Participate
- The registration will take place on the day of the tournament at the sports center’s entrance.
- Participants must deliver a toy and/or a kilo of food.
- In exchange, all participants will receive a special t-shirt and a medal.
- The tournament will be played with doubles. Players can register in pairs or alone, as the organization will find a partner.
- Children, parents, and family members are welcome to participate and enjoy a healthy family activity.
