Early Season Controversy: Carter Spit on Prescott

Fresh off their Super Bowl victory, the Philadelphia Eagles faced the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL season opener. However, the most talked-about moment came before the first snap, as Eagles’ defensive tackle Jalen Carter was ejected for spitting on Cowboys’ quarterback Dak Prescott.

“Carter was expelled from the field after just six seconds… Same as Carter and Prescott got into a change of words, whence Carter spat on the quarterback on the chest.”

Prescott later claimed he hadn’t intended to spit on Carter, saying, “I certainly didn’t want to spit on my offensive linemen. I just spit on the floor.” Carter admitted his misconduct but refused to offer further comment, saying, “If you look at the pictures, everything will come out. I have nothing to say.”

Carter’s History of Controversy

Carter, drafted ninth in 2023, has faced controversy before. Prior to the draft, he pleaded guilty to negligent driving and racing, resulting in a one-year suspended sentence following a fatal accident involving his Georgia teammate Devin Willock.
