Back in 2022, before his NBA debut, Victor Wembanyama had a chance to train with then-Florida 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey. Maxey recalls:
“He said, ‘I want to play one-on-one, but I want to be on defense all the time.’ I’d never seen a player say that. I go for my usual move, right-handed layup, and he just swats my shot against the board.”
