Veteran Guard Briante Weber Joins Treviso Basket
From NBA to Italian Lega Serie A
Former NBA guard Briante Weber is making his way back to the Italian league, signing with Treviso Basket. This will be Weber’s third club in Italy in just two years, following stints with Reggiana Emilia and Dinamo Sassari.
globetrotter Weber’s Impressive Career
“Never two without three” seems to be the adage for Briante Weber’s career. The 32-year-old American has spent the past decade crisscrossing the globe, playing in eight different countries and the NBA.
- NBA (Memphis, Golden State, Houston, Miami, Charlotte)
- France (Metropolitans 92)
- Greece (Olympiacos)
- Canada, Puerto Rico, Israel, Turkey, Kuwait
Since his professional beginnings exactly ten years ago, the player trained in VCU in NCAA has been as impactful as globetrotter, not remaining more than a season in a club.
Weber’s Italian Connection
The Lega Serie A seems to suit Weber. After a strong finish in Sassari (9.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists in 26 minutes over 8 games), Treviso snapped him up, lauding his defense, energy, and experience.
“By his defense, his energy and his experience: he is a great addition for Treviso.”
Weber Joins Ex-NBA Stars in Italy
Weber is not alone in his Italian adventure. Kenneth Faried, the 2014 World Champion, spent last season at La Reggiana and could extend his stay there.
