Vícar’s Badminton Stars Shine at Almería Masters
The Bádminton Sports School of Llanos de Vícar made waves last Saturday at the Masters Tournament hosted by the Almería de Bádminton delegation in Adra. The Provincial Circuit of Badminton 2025 came to a close, and despite numerous casualties, the Vikar team left their mark with a stellar performance.
Podium Haul in Individual and Doubles Categories
The young talents from Llanos de Vícar secured a total of six podium finishes, including three in individual and three in doubles categories. They also nabbed a hard-fought third place. Here’s a breakdown of their remarkable feats:
- Carla Rodríguez was named the provincial runner-up in the Women’s Sub13 category.
- Adrián Cebrián bagged the provincial championship in the Sub17 double male category and was the runner-up in the individual male Sub17 event.
- Ethan Casilla and Jimena Navarro paired up to claim the runner-up spot in the mixed doubles event, while Jimena also topped her individual female category.
- Álvaro Fernández fought bravely to secure a memorable third place in the Sub17 double male category.
First Season Standouts
It’s worth noting that the victories of Adrián, Carla, Ethan, and Álvaro occurred in their inaugural season. Their triumphs are even more impressive considering they competed against more seasoned players.
