Who says new NBA 2K, says many improvements, changes or other improvements. This is what happens in My Player and My Career modes that will experience some changes in the next opus of the saga scheduled for September 6, 2024.

Among them, the return of the Takeover system. We can choose from 72 Takeovers and 14 Takeover abilities aimed at improving some in-game stats as your player gains strength during the match. In short, if, like Steph Curry, you start shooting 3-point shots without missing a single one, your Takeover gauge will increase until it reaches level 5, opening up these ability to get the same time accuracy, a reduction of your penalty if you have a defender in front of you on the 3-point line that makes you more unplayable.

Mix it with 40 badges that are announced to have “more impact and more complete than before”, 2K therefore decided to promote this principle of “player on fire” during a game and the Showtime that will be its result in NBA 2K25.

Another change is the My Career mode. Some of us are tired of introductions that sometimes take too long before our player is fully integrated into the team of our dreams. This does not happen in NBA 2K25 which focuses its My Career mode on the longevity of our player.

In fact, our goal is to reach, or surpass, the number of trophies of the great Michael Jordan and have a player who will mark history like his idol. So we have the possibility to directly launch the NBA seasons and discover the journey of our player before entering the league through optional “missions”.
