U.S. Gymnastics Sensation Olivia Dunne Retires at 22
From Bar to Social Media Stardom
At just 22, American gymnast Olivia Dunne has decided to hang up her leotard. But don’t expect her to fade from the limelight just yet.
From Bars to Fame
“Gymnastics is my first love, and it always will be,” Dunne shared on Instagram. “But it’s time for me to step away from competition.”
Dunne, who competed on the uneven bars and floor exercise, rose to prominence in the gymnastic world after joining the U.S. Junior National Team in 2017. In 2020, she enrolled at Louisiana State University, where she helped her team win the 2024 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championship.
Social Media Sensation
However, Dunne’s impact extends far beyond the gym. With over 13 million followers on TikTok and Instagram, she is one of the most influential college athletes in the U.S.
“I’m so proud of you and the impact you’ve had on my life. I’m going to miss seeing you crush it, but I’m excited to see what’s next!” one fan commented on Dunne’s retirement announcement.
From Gymnast to Entrepreneur
Dunne’s popularity has translated into lucrative partnerships, with estimates placing her net worth at $4 million. She is also active on “Passes,” a subscription platform offering exclusive, non-explicit content.
Meanwhile, “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue” and “Forbes” have both featured Dunne in recent years. She has been in a relationship with professional baseball player Paul Skenes since 2023.
