For Éire Óg ladies footballers, the night of November 22, 2025, was nothing short of miraculous. After five years of relentless pursuit, they finally clinched the Cork Credit Unions Club Senior Ladies Football championship, their first ever.

The 2025 championship rematch between Éire Óg and Aghada lived up to its billing as an intense, nail-biting affair. After a hard-fought 0-0 draw in the initial decider, they met again in a replay that went down to the wire.

“Both sides had their chances to win it, but a draw was probably a fair result at that stage,” said an onlooker.
