The League B adventure begins this weekend for BC Boncourt. The Ajoulote basketball team will start their championship this Sunday in Chaudron at 5 pm against the Geneva Lions U23s. BCB, which played last season in the 1st League, equivalent to the 3rd division, owes its place in the National League B to a file application that was accepted. Still rebuilding, the club relies on training and reiterates its confidence in the same contingent that has essentially built the backbone of the U18s. “These U18s took a year off and can’t play in this category anymore. These young people need to be in a work environment that suits their skills. And now, we’re pretending to believe that their place of work should be in League B where the level is higher and because they have shown interest to play there and that they clearly deserve it,” explained BCB president Grégory Franc, who was the guest of “La Matinale” on Thursday. The Ajoulots do not strengthen, but do not rule out the arrival of new players.
BC Boncourt also hopes to gain visibility by playing again in the national league, either in terms of public entries or sponsors. “We have to win matches, people have to come back to matches, we have to put on a show. The partners and the media also have to play the game to give us a certain perspective, because this is the only thing that helps us to grow little by little. We have been followed by sponsors, we have even increased the participation of others. I would say that the trust contract with our partners is healthy and quite high,” continued Grégory Franc.
