World Junior Badminton Elite Converge on Oviedo for Iberdrola Spanish Open

Oviedo, Spain, is preparing to welcome the world’s top junior badminton talent for the Iberdrola Spanish Open. The competition, taking place at the Corredoria Arena, will feature 207 players from 26 countries across five continents.

Tournament Overview

The Iberdrola Spanish Open will showcase some of the most promising young players in the sport. Among the competitors are athletes currently ranked 4th and 6th in the world in men’s singles, as well as other players within the international top 15. Doubles teams ranked within the world’s top 20 will also be participating in the women’s doubles and mixed doubles categories.

Fourteen players from Asturias will compete in the tournament.   • Saturday, March 14th: Competition continues at 9:00 AM.
  • Sunday, March 15th: Final matches will be held in the morning.

The tournament will consist of approximately 350 matches over three days, running from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Friday and Saturday. The competition will utilize a direct elimination format across all categories, totaling around 25 hours of gameplay.
